2011-12 Season Series:
Karajan Master Series at Béla Bartók Concert Hall, MÜPA
Come to one of Europe’s most acclaimed concert halls to enjoy four concerts including Liszt, Berlioz, Mahler, Ravel and Dvořak pieces, as well as the Hungarian premiere of Thomas Ades’s Asyla, and Schumann’s rarely performed Paradise and the Peri. Guest artists: Gergely Bogányi, Dénes Várjon, Zoltán Kocsis and Dezső Ránki.
First concert: 20 September 2011.
Richter Master Series at Béla Bartók Concert Hall, MÜPA
We continue our highly successful Richter Series at one of Europe’s best concert halls. Five concerts centred around Russian pieces, with highly acclaimed guest artists including Vadim Repin, Anna Vinnitskaya, The Amadinda Percussion Ensemble, Kirill Gerstein and Maxim Fedotov.
First concert: 13 December 2011.
“Do You Like Beethoven?” at Festival Theatre, Palace of Arts
Four concerts starting on 12 January 2012. The interactive series on different aspects of Betthoven’s art is produced in collaboration with the Liszt Music Academy and the Palace of Arts and focussed around the following themes: “Classic Games”, “The Hero’s Metamorphoses”, “Passion and Redemption” and “Towards the Stars”. The pieces are introduced by András Batta, President of the Liszt Academy of Music.
The Year of the Quartet: the Keller Quartet at Zeneház (Concerto Budapest headquarters)
Three concerts of the highly acclaimed Keller Quartet, starting on 2 December 2011, including pieces by Bach, Kurtág, Mozart, Jörg Widman, Beethoven and Ligeti.
Music and Pantomime: Manó Series for Kids at Zeneház (Concerto Budapest headquarters)
Come to our headquarters and enjoy four concerts for children aged between 4 and 10, starting on 25 September, focussing on music related to the four elements – earth, air, fire, water – and including hilarious pantomime performances.
Dzsopatán and Gásztonfild: Family concerts at the Hungarian National Museum
Come to the beautiful Main Hall of the Hungarian National Museum to see four concerts for the age group 9-99, focussing on famous Hungarian tales, myths and stories, presented through music of great Hungarian composers, from Liszt to Bartók to Kurtág.
First concert: 9 October 2012.
